Your surroundings shape how you feel, they do! At this time of the year texture plays a huge part. It creates intrigue and injects personality into a space. Winter textures need to be inviting, cosy and warm.
The secret to creating this happiness at home is to combine different textures. The more varieties you include the better a room looks! Unlike pattern, colour or statement pieces that might leave you wondering if they it will go with everything that’s already in the room, you can never over do it it with texture. Texture is completely adaptable and works no matter what your existing style may be.
You will most definitely need some soft items such as faux fur, sheep skin, velvet, cashmere or wool.

Also essential is the introduction of rough surfaces such as weathered timber, wicker, stone, sisal and raw concrete.

And don’t forget to introduce something smooth like glass, mirror, polished wood, gloss paint or metal. Reflective surfaces add magic to a space…..
