I’ve been looking for some inspiration to style my workspace. I have a desk in the study but have absolutely no desire to sit and work at it. I normally grab what I’m using and move to the dining table which is daft because I have to pack it all up before dinner. (Unless I get lazy and leave it there which happens frequently!) I need a list which means there’s decisions to be made…..
A comfy chair is a necessity, bonus points if it looks as good as this one because I want to sit in it! And if only I had a window as beautiful as this one to stare out of. Clever that both desks are orientated to face the view and I’ve read that two desks are a great way to boost productivity. One for designing and drawing and the other for your laptop or PC. Being task specific ensures you stay focused on what you are working on.
Dark, moody and glamorous, these workspaces have an atmosphere all of their own with layers of inspiration and unique lighting.
Who can resist the Industrial workspace? No brickwork at my place though 🙁
Long and narrow means you can spread out your stuff from one end to the other and have everything on hand. Great for saving space and the line is groovy!
Contrast and texture create the perfect rustic workspace. I think these are my favourites!
Love me a bit of Scandi influence, so tidy and fresh! How good are those shelves and the moodboard?!
Storage is always a priority. A cleverly designed desk and bookshelves help provide a functional workspace that should theoretically be super easy to keep tidy.
And I love timber!! Provides warmth and character like nothing else can.
White, fresh and bright, I could imagine working happily in both of these workspaces.
Plants are proven to improve focus and creativity while decreasing stress levels as well as purifying the air.

My must have list consists of: comfy chair, two desks, clever lighting, contrast and texture, great storage, a clever moodboard, timber, indoor plants and an atmosphere that makes me want to work. Shouldn’t be to much to ask. Should it?! I will let you in on a secret…….I am much better at making decisions for others than for myself!
